The home of Mosaic Madness and Art for Strictly Beginners

Has now become nolastudio. I would love you to go there now to truly experience nola and her creative website

To all those creative heartbeats out there - happy 2004.

Amongst life's ups and downs I hope that this year inspires you to create a life filled with desire to seek more joy.

This little newsletter is a quick welcome to the year and to let you know that my 2004 brochure is now available. If you would like a copy and if you are not on my snail mail mailing list (all past students automatically are) then please email me your address and we'll mail one out to you.

This year's theme is KEYS TO CREATIVITY and once more the studio of mosaic madness and art for strictly beginners has transformed.

The changes have been inspired from a recent trip to Paris (November 03). The trip has altered the way I see art and as a consequence how I think about the creative process too. I was given the opportunity to access the private drawing room of the Louvre (not available to the public) and view to my hearts content original works of art (drawings) of Michelagelo, Leonardo, Van Goph, Degas - whomever I wished. I was allowed to handle the original drawings (carefully) and to view them alone and without the protection of reflective glass. I was also allowed to draw from these works. I cannot begin to describe what changes this experience alone has created in me.

So - to the changes at the studio.

Firstly - The ASB course .
For all those past participants of the ASB program you will be please to know that for the first time ever we have ASB II. ASB II is an extention of what is now being called ASB I. In the second part of ASB focus's on your painting skills - again workiing with a different medium each week, you will get to a basic introduction into the techniques of this medium, explore a master artist of this medium and paint (and finish) a still life in that medium.
ASB remains the same with except for a name change to ASB I.

I have also created a quick ASB refresher workshop, for those who would like to do ASB II but need a quick review of ASB I (because its been a while) - this is simple a one night class.

AND then there's Nolas Art Talks ...
For those that know me I know what you're thinking.......yes I do enjoy sharing insights!

So here they are - a series of talks on art with insights that will inspire you to think differently and information disclosed that will give you a deeper appreciation of art.

Finally on the art side of things - ASB Plus series - short courses designed to keep your art skills up.
Please pop into the website for further info about these new courses or if you are not on my snail mail mailing list - email me your address for a brochure.

AND to the Mosaics
The Mosaic Madness Weekend Workshop remains unchanged - well almost!
A significant addition is the day class that we are offering called Garden Mosaics to be run by Greta. Here you get to work on whatever you want and with whatever material you want. It could be a table, a mural, a stepping stone, working with marble, smalti or whatever.
This course is not for beginners.

And to be announced in the next newsletter is the Mosaic Madness Master Class. Stay tuned for this one - the program is still in the making. And because it is 'in the making' I would like ideas from people who would be interested in attending a master class with me.
Please address your email with " MM Master Class Ideas" in the subject matter.

The Madness shop is having a makeover too now.

On the web you will find not quite all of my glass mosaic products now available to be purchased without the mail order kit and by the sheet. Yaaaeeee.
And this same system has been introduced to the Madness On Site Studio shop too.

I hope the endless transformation of the studio and its new ideas continues to fill your life with inspiration, stimulation, laughter and learning.

keep inspired - nola
