Mosaic
Madness Website hits the 'refresh'
The website has been refreshed - a
long overdo event. And we are very excited
to reveal the new look site. One of the significant
additions is the Mosaic Commissions section
which is a pictorial and editorial of
how my recent mosaic commissions came to play.
It's not a 'how to' but rather a 'how
come' we did what we did, how we overcame errors
(yes we reveal those), what circumstances led
to the commission and the design and who was
involved.
There
are many more changes to come (can't reveal
just yet) that will make the site exciting
for myart students and also my shoppers so
stay tuned.
 Greek
Festival of Sydney
The studio was open to the public on Sunday
26 March as part of the festivities organised by
the Greek Festival of Sydney.
Lots
of people arrived throughout the day - and some stayed
all day - to takeup the opportunity of laying in
a small glass tile and to contribute to the community
involvement in the making of this Byzantium reproduction
Virgin Mary.
The
Virgin is now almost complete and in these final
stages of her fabrication, we seem to have slowed
down a bit now - I think because we are reluctant
to let her go. However we have at the same time begun
preparations for the Reproduction Mosaic of Jesus
Christ.

Open
Shop Day & Stocktake Sale
Saturday
27th May
The
Studio shop will be open on Saturday the 27th of
May from 10am - 3pm and there will be bargains
galore. Lots
of pre-mixed colours of asian tiles, italian tiles & smalti.
As you know you can ususally only buy minimum
quantities of one colour, so this is
a special offer to our valued customers.
There will be discounted stock, kits, tools and more. And
I will be available to provide advice and guidance
on projects that you are working on.
We will also have demonstrations on grouting and
using two part adhesive and cutting techniques.
So if you are having a few problems with cutting
the shpae that you need, please bring in your nippers
and lets dicover what the problem is.
This
will also be a fundraising day for the Mosaic Association
of Australia's (mos-oz) Starlight child - Kirk.
Mos-Oz is only $800 short of granting his wish
so all shoppers will be asked to THROW YOUR MONEY
IN THE DUNNY for kirk with the chance of winning
a box of mixed tiles donated by Mosaic MAdness.

My
Exhibition
I will be holding a solo exhibition of new and
existing works on paper and sculpture.
It is being held in September at Artereal - more
details to be revealed.
